About the office

The Board of Supervisors is the governing body of the county. It sets goals and objectives to direct the county’s growth and development and carries out other responsibilities set by Mississippi law.

Supervisors are elected from each of the five districts to serve four-year terms. The Board oversees county operations, enacts ordinances and resolutions to promote the health, safety and welfare of citizens and businesses, and approves the annual budget and millage rate that fund county offices and departments.

Each supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, upkeep and improvement of county roads and bridges in their district.

Meetings

All meetings of the Board of Supervisors are open to the public. The Board may also hold special called meetings for matters that need to be considered before the next regular meeting, and emergency meetings in an emergency.
