About the office

The Finance Department manages and controls the financial functions of all county departments and the clerks of court, following generally accepted principles of government accounting and Mississippi law.

The department has three areas: general accounting, accounts payable and payroll. Its duties include:

• controlling expenditures and obligations, including operating expenses, debt and payroll;
• receipting and depositing all revenues;
• managing the investment of county funds;
• accounting for all assets and capital project expenditures;
• internal and external financial reporting.
