WINTER WEATHER UPDATE | Jan. 15
Here’s what to expect:
-Sleet and freezing rain accumulations are possible.
-Travel impact is likely with light icing of roads, bridges and overpasses.
-Low temps (10 to 18-degrees F), with wind chills as low as -10 to 1-degrees.
-Possible danger to exposed pipes.
Monday night (6 p.m.) through Tuesday morning (6 a.m.)
What can you do right now?
The forecast will continue to evolve; however, it's important to prepare by:
-Seal windows & doors.
-Insulate pipes.
-Bring your pets inside and cover plants.
-Check on your elderly and disabled neighbors to make sure heat is working properly.
We advise residents to stay off the road throughout the evening tonight (1/15) and early hours tomorrow (1/16) as we expect to see treacherous road conditions.

All SCSD Schools will be closed January 16, 2024:
Due to the potential impact on roadways and bridges from the winter storm forecasted for our area, all SCSD schools will be closed Tuesday, January 16, 2024. All after school extra-curricular activities are canceled for Tuesday, January 16 as well.
All SCSD Schools will open on January 17, 2024 @ 10:00 AM:
All SCSD schools will reopen on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 with a delayed start time of 10:00 AM. Stay warm and stay safe SCSD Communities!
